ROUND 5 REVIEW CUMBRE V jets
SFL Review
Round 5 saw us playing against a physical Joondalup ECU Jets. The game presented challenging from the beginning with only a few chances created in the first 10 minutes despite having most of possession. The jets opened the score first after a defensive error, however, La Cumbre managed to level up the score minutes after from the penalty spot. The jets saw themselves on 5 fouls which allowed Cumbre have a couple of 10 metre penalties.
The second half was slightly better for La Cumbre with more attacking opportunities created and extending the lead to 4-1, just before the jets managed to score a couple of quick goals to make it 4-3. Cumbre used their experience to fight the game through to finish 6-3 and securing the 3 points to remain undefeated this season.
Draft Review
Tough game for the young Cumbre Draft side with a few players from the U19 squad stepping up due to some injuries in the team. With 2 subs, Cumbre fought hard and secured the 3 points against a much physical Jets. Jaidyn Watson and Ben Thorpe led the team to victory which was a man down for 2 minutes due to a red card decision. With this result Cumbre is 3rd on the ladder with 4 wins and 1 loss
